Young Photographer Competition

The Sarum Rotary Young Photographer Competition is a local competition aimed at promoting the photographic skills of young people in the local community.
The competition aims to encourage young people to:
- experiment with photography
- use digital and/or traditional methods of photography
- demonstrate interpretation of the topic
- express ideas through the medium of photograph
The competition is open to all schools and college communities and those who are home educated, along with any other young peoples’ community organisations, for example, community RotaKids, community Interact, Scout Groups, Girl Guides.
There are three age groups:
Junior: 7 to 10 years old
Intermediate: 11 to 13 years old
Senior: 14 to 17 years old
Entrants must not be over the upper age parameter for each group on <date to be specified>. Competitors must include their age on the application form.
To produce a portfolio of three photographs based upon the theme, ‘Promoting Salisbury’ in colour or black and white on photographic paper. The prints must be submitted individually. Each print, including any mount should be no larger than A4 size. Mobile Phones may be used in addition to cameras.
To accompany the portfolio, each entrant must provide a brief sentence describing the relationship of each photograph to the theme.
Please Note: Photographs which incorporate images of people under 18 years old must be accompanied by written permission from the parent, guardian, or carer.
